Looking at the opportunities to promote and support specific housing needs
One of the key issues raised during the community plan consultation was affordable housing supply for local and young people. In response to this issue the Council has begun a phase of work to explore opportunities for community-led housing schemes. We are right at the beginning of this process, looking for specialist advice and ways to share knowledge between other interested parties. Our first step is to bring in experts in community-led housing to present an overview of the subject before we undertake a more detailed phase of local consultation for community needs and sentiment towards such a project.
