Active Travel aims to increase numbers of people walking and cycling as a leisure activity and an alternative to car use. The scheme is delivered by local authorities and includes improvements to cycling and walking infrastructure and is called “Gear Change : a Bold Vision for Cycling and Walking”.

The aims of the scheme fit well with a number of initiatives within the existing MWPC community plan which we continue to implement.
