Millom Without Parish Council serves the residents within the Hill, The Green, Dunningwell, School Ellis, Thwaites, Lady Hall, Broadgate and the Duddon Area.

A councillor is a voice of its community and can affect real change by representing the local community, delivering services and improving the quality of life of its residents.

The Parish Council since the development of the Local Community Plan, has actively worked to deliver on the aspirations set out by our community.

The Parish Council are proud to have delivered on key aspects of this Community Plan:

• A new Play Park sited on the Playing Field at Thwaites Village Hall
• Refurbishment of the “Bus Shelters” at The Hill and work commenced at The Green
• By actively pursing funding sources, the work to upgrade the path at Middle Cut is now underway.
• Active steps to improve our local environment which include significant improvements to the lay by near Ghyll Scaur Quarry, and the setting up of community-based litter picks. Recently a community-based Environment Group has been set-up and are now working to support environmental projects.
• Promotion of safe cycling by hosting a 2-day event held in June 21.
• Creation of a local Heritage Walk – Stone to Stones to promote the local area.
We have more work to do and we need extra support to continue with the delivery of our Community Plan – do you know someone who would be a good Parish Councillor or is this something which you would like to do? We are looking to co-opt 2 people onto the Parish Council, who can make a difference and represent the electorate.
