Digital Connectivity Grants

Grants of up to £3000 per household and £7000 per business are available
Digital Voucher Scheme
As some will be very well aware, there are a number of smaller locations within the Parish which currently have a diminished service (or none) for either mobile phones or broadband (or both). For smaller communities it is possible to partner with network providers to install improved services to their own households or businesses. These schemes are part funded by the residents and part by the suppliers.
Financial support is available to the residents in these schemes in the form of vouchers and the Millom Without Parish is included in an area which qualifies for double-funding, meaning that individuals can apply for up to £3,000 per household and businesses for up to £7,000.
There are conditions on the schemes (one of main ones being that a scheme must include a minimum of two residences in the application) but there is a lot of information available to explain the requirements. Given that it is unlikely any extension to the existing broadband fibre network is going to take place within the Parish in the near future, for anyone wishing to improve the service to their own, smaller community this could be a good way to achieve it.
