Certificate of Lawfulness to confirm that a material start has been carried out & works
have commenced prior to 3 Year Date following Planning Approval 4/07/2665/0
(convert existing barn into a Residential Dwelling)

Both applications were considered by the Council. It was noted that there was no
evidence/information as that what work has been undertaken previously and what the
original applications applied to.

131/22 PARISH MATTERS
131/22.1 Community Plan
a) Woodland Management
A report had been received for the woodland management programme. Clerk to
obtain 3 quotes for the works
b) Footpath Rising Hill to The Green
Consultation has taken place with Thwaites Village Hall and residents. Clerk to
obtain quotations for works. Temporary finish and tarmac finish
c) Play Area
Signage now in place. To contact local contractor to check swings. Bench still to
be removed.
d) Solar lights Green Road
Consultation with residents completed. Feedback positive, a number of questions
to be pursued with supplier.
Resolved to go ahead with the project Proposed by Cllr Lockwood, Seconded by
Cllr Murray
Project sub-group to comprise of Cllrs Murray, Nugent, Pogrel and Kitchingman
e) Dog Fouling
Still no signage and bins, Clerk to pursue. Clerk to offer for PC to purchase bins
if CBC will empty.
f) Safe Pedestrian Walking from The Green to Thwaites
Hedges overgrowing, Clerk to report

a) Telephone Box repairs
Resolved to repair the telephone box as per the insurance claim. Clerk to
order parts. A joiner to be sourced to undertake the works

b) Coronation Tree
Suggested an oak tree at Thwaites School, Cllr Nugent to speak with school

a) South Copeland Community Partnership - GDF
Cllr Savage reported that a meeting to be held on 11 January 2023

a) Environment Group
Cllr Calsy reported that approx. 1 tonne of builders rubble had been removed from
Black Beck. A press release to be sent to the Evening Mail
Cllr Calsy reported that the group wished to hold another Cycle event between April
and June

Ghyll Scaur Quarry meeting scheduled for 10 January 2023
