MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON MONDAY

6 MARCH 2023 AT THWAITES VILLAGE HALL, THE GREEN

COMMENCING AT 07.30PM

PRESENT: Cllr D Savage (Chair) Cllr I Lockwood, Cllr A Nugent, Cllr V Pogrel, Cllr B Wright,

estimates and appoint a contractor. The Chair proposed that this item be discussed

at the end of the meeting, should any member of the public attend within the meeting.

B.Cllr McGrath, who is standing down as Borough Councillor on 1 April 2023 was

thanked by the Chair for attending meetings and assisting the Council.

161/22 APPLICATIONS FOR DEVELOPMENT:

161/22.1 To examine applications for development and submit observations to the

7/2023/4009 Duddon Bank, Duddon Bridge

Reconfiguration of existing dwelling/cottage including new windows and external

doors to the Eastern & Southern Elevations. New entrance porch & upper ground

floor extension providing additional bedroom space. New dormer projections to first

floor of cottage and replacement balcony

Clerk has verified with CC Highways that solar lights would be permitted as they

meet the appropriate standard.

a) South Copeland Community Partnership – GDF

The Chair has been re-elected. Workshops are being arranged to assess what

has been achieved, challenges and disbenefits by building a GDF.

b) South Copeland Partnership

At the meeting there was a presentation on the new Cumberland Unitary Council

and locality working. The second half of the meeting was discussing the

proposed new art commissions and their locations. One proposed location is

potentially within the PC’s boundaries.
