MILLOM WITHOUT PARISH COUNCIL
DRAFT MINUTES OF THE EXTRA ORDINARY PARISH COUNCIL
MEETING HELD ON
WEDNESDAY 12 JANUARY 2021 AT THE HILL VILLAGE HALL,
COMMENCING AT 07.30PM

112/21 Exclusion of Press and Public
There were no items on the agenda that would require the exclusion of the press and
public.
113/21 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
None
114/21 GDF Community Partnership.
Ms Anderson gave an overview of the process and the main function of the
community group was to facilitate discussion with the communities, review/refine
boundaries and define priorities for reinvestment funding, currently £1m per annum.
Questions were raised as to the accountability of the group and the role of the Chair
both short and long term, transport infrastructure and area of consideration.
Clarification was also sought on the right of withdrawal.
The Chair thanked Ms Anderson for joining the meeting and the RWM
representatives left the meeting
115/21 Determination as to whether Millom without Parish Council would join the GDF
Community Partnership
After discussion it was resolved by majority vote that the Parish Council would take a
seat on the GDF Community Partnership as it was considered that this was the only
way the community’s interests could be protected and best represented in what is a
long term project impacting our area.
116/21 Elected Representative
It was resolved that Cllr Lockwood would represent the Parish Council at the GDF
Community Partnership meeting on Monday 24 January 2022 as a temporary basis
and this would be further discussed at the February meeting
117/21 DATE OF NEXT MEETING 7 February 2022 The Hill Village Hall at 7.30pm.
